Our school football team played in the first round of the newly formed St. Pat's Community Cup on Tuesday, April 30th on Brickfield Park AstroTurf. Our opponents were Canal Way ETNS in a 9 a side match. Our squad of 15 players had 4 girls playing competitive football for the first time.
Despite dominating possession and attempts on goal, we lost the match 2-1. Ava Malone was our goalscorer, who was very unfortunate not to score a couple of more goals. Sarah Scott Burke was elected captain who does a good job playing central midfield and leading by example.
Our next match is against James' Street NS in Brickfield Park Astro on Tuesday, May 6th. Kick off to be confirmed, but is assumed to be 1pm.
